Cordata Healthcare Innovations, a software company that provides solutions to better support at-risk populations, has announced the launch of a new data management system for specialized dockets, a particular session of a court that aims to address nonviolent criminal offenders cycling in and out of the criminal justice system by providing alternatives to imprisonment. The technology is first being implemented in two Southwest Ohio counties.
Specialized dockets offer court-monitored, community-based programs to specifically qualified individuals who would otherwise be convicted and sentenced. The programs are designed to address the underlying causes of criminal behavior, reduce recidivism, and improve public safety. Each docket has a dedicated team consisting of a judge, probation officers, specialized docket staff, and a wide range of treatment providers from numerous community agencies.
Specialized dockets are an effective way to divert special populations out of the criminal justice system; however, managing the administrative needs of the court as well as necessary clinical or social information can be challenging. These challenges make it difficult for teams to coordinate care, collaborate, and report outcomes.
Cordata has developed a specialized docket platform that allows judicial entities to easily organize information and make better-informed decisions that support all stakeholders, including the docket candidate, social workers, probation officers, layers, and judges. The platform was developed to support several types of specialized dockets to a standard system, supporting cross-referrals and collaboration.
With Cordata’s specialized docket technology, teams can document relevant treatment plans, coordinate care for participants, collect and track data to measure success, ensure compliance with certification requirements, and integrate with other participating community programs.
